Flowtravel is a magazine, not a data business. We collect as little as we can, we tell you plainly what that is, and we never sell it. This page is the honest version — short, specific, and in human language.
We collect three things: anonymous analytics about which articles are read, your email if you choose to subscribe to the newsletter, and your message if you write to us or apply to write for us. That's it.
Analytics tell us which pieces are useful so we can make more of them and retire the ones that aren't. Your email lets us send a newsletter you asked for. Your messages let us answer you. We have no other agenda for your data — no profiling, no resale, no advertising auctions.
We use a single privacy-friendly analytics tool that does not follow you across the web and does not require a cookie banner the size of the page. We do not embed third-party advertising pixels. If we ever add an embed (a map, a video), we will tell you and load it respectfully.
A short, named list of service providers who help us operate — an email platform to send the newsletter, hosting to serve the site, analytics to count visits. They process data on our behalf under contract, and only for that purpose. We never share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
Some articles contain affiliate links: if you book or buy through them, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. We disclose them inline, every time, and they never change our recommendation. Sponsored articles are labeled as sponsored on every screen. This is part of how the magazine stays free and independent.
You can unsubscribe from the newsletter with one click in any email. You can ask us what data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it — and we will, promptly. Depending on where you live (for example the EU/EEA under GDPR, or California under CCPA), you may have additional rights; we honor them regardless of where you are.
To exercise any of this, reach out to us through the site and we'll take care of it.
If we change how we handle your data, we'll update this page and move the date at the top. Material changes to the newsletter will be announced in the newsletter itself. No quiet rewrites.
